Exams

There will be two in-class midterms. The first will be on Friday, Feb. 15, and covers chapters 1 and 2. The second will be on Friday, Mar. 28 and will cover chapters 3-6. No make-up exams will be given. If you miss a midterm, it will count as your dropped grade (see the grading policy below.) The final will cover all of the course material.

Grading

You will be graded out of a total of 400 points. These break down as follows:

Two in-class midterms (100 points each)
Final exam (200 points)
Section grade (100 points) - This will be determined by your TA, and will be based on a combination of homework and weekly quiz grades.

Your lowest 100 points other than your section grade will be dropped. (Your section grade will count whether it is the lowest or not. Homework is probably the single most important part of this course.)
