Junior Geometry and QFT Seminar

BPS states are one of the key features in the application of quantum field theory. In this talk, I will explore various supersymmetry scenarios and introduce the concept of BPS (e.g. BPS bound, BPS representations) within each case. Additionally, we will find that there is always an index called Witten index, which is invariant under the deformations of the Hilbert space. In fact, something particularly intriguing happens for this index in four-dimensional quantum field theory, where it leads to the famous Donaldson-Thomas invariants. Hopefully, that will be treated in the squeal talk.
