Junior Geometry and QFT Seminar

There is a rich correspondence between certain 2d theories and 4d supersymmetric gauge theories called AGT correspondence (Alday, Gaiotto, and Tachikawa). Bahaa will introduce the 2d theories (2d Yang Mills and Liouville theory), the 4d theories (N=2 SU(2) theories on punctured Riemann surfaces), and show the equivalence of the partition functions/correlators. If time permits, there will be some discussion on the 6d origin of this correspondence and open questions.
