Junior Geometry and QFT Seminar

It will be a short talk about axioms. We will start with a brief motivation of axiomatic/algebraic quantum field theory (AQFT). Then I'll introduce the Wightman axioms and explain their physical justification. One annoying thing about Wightman axioms is that they allow unbounded operators. If one wants to only deal with bounded operators, there is an analog set of axioms called the Haag-Kastler axioms. It is not known if the Wightman and Haag-Kastler axioms are equivalent, but it is believed that they are equivalent with additional "mild" assumptions. I'll compare how they are different.
