Firstly, I will introduce the Chern-Simons theory and quantum knot invariant following the famous Witten’s paper titled QFT and Jones Polynomials. After that, I will introduce the Large-N duality relating Chern-Simons theory and topological string theory, which was firstly proposed by ’t Hooft and developed by Gopakumar, Ooguri and Vafa. The running example of Large-N duality is the duality between Chern-Simons theory on S^3 and topological string theory A-model on resolved conifold.
